Overview

You have the right to request deletion of your Kontexa account and all associated personal data at any time. This page explains what happens when you delete your account, what data is affected, and how to submit a deletion request.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once processed, your data cannot be recovered.

What Gets Deleted

When your account is deleted, the following data is permanently removed:

  • Your account profile and login credentials
  • All biomarker data (HRV, sleep, activity, stress patterns)
  • Self-reported mood and journal entries
  • AI-generated session briefings and summaries
  • Wearable device connection data
  • Notification preferences and app settings
  • Communication history with support

What May Be Retained

In limited circumstances, certain data may be retained after account deletion:

Legal obligations

Data required to be retained under applicable laws (e.g., tax records, regulatory compliance) will be kept for the legally required period.

Healthcare record requirements

If your therapist is legally required to retain certain records under medical record retention laws, those records remain under the therapist's responsibility.

Anonymized analytics

Fully anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for service improvement purposes.

Any retained data is kept in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection regulations (GDPR).

Deletion Timeframe

After you submit a deletion request:

  • Your account is deactivated immediately — you will no longer be able to log in
  • Personal data is deleted from active systems within 30 days
  • Backup systems are purged within 90 days
  • You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete

During the processing period, your data is not accessible and is not used for any purpose.

How to Request Deletion

You can request account deletion using any of the following methods:

In the App

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm deletion.

By Email

Send a deletion request to privacy@kontexa.eu

Please include the email address associated with your account so we can verify your identity.

Important Considerations

Therapist accounts

If you are a therapist, deleting your account will remove your access to all patient data shared through Kontexa. Your patients will be notified.

Patient accounts

If you are a patient, your therapist will no longer be able to see your data through Kontexa after deletion. Any notes your therapist has made independently are not affected.

Active subscriptions

Please cancel any active subscriptions before deleting your account. Account deletion does not automatically cancel subscriptions through the App Store or Google Play.

Data export

You can request a copy of your data before deleting your account. Contact us at privacy@kontexa.eu to request a data export.
